Radiation Therapy Treatment #6

Beginning of the second week...nothing new to report.

This is a picture of Betty at the garage door as Stella left for treatment and a full day of boarding.  They've only been together 8 months but have already formed a bond.

Radiation Therapy Treatment #5

5 of 20 treatments and first full week completed!!  Stella is her usual self today just as she was on treatment day #1.

Her discharge summary for the week states:  "No evidence of radiation toxicity at the treatment site at this time".

Two furlough days; no treatment for Stella, no driving or highway tolls for us!

Why do you take my picture every single day?

2nd Mast Cell Tumor FOOTNOTE

I wanted to point out that Stella's second MCT differed from the first in that the second one was not noticeably visible.  As I mentioned, the first MCT looked like a smooth, flat, black mole - visible on her arm.  The second one was a teeny lump felt under the skin.

Clearly visible or not, has no effect on the ultimate grade.

Radiation Therapy Treatment #4

Radiation therapist said the redness by the elbow is definitely just irritation from having had stitches.

Radiation Therapy Treatment #3

Asked the radiation therapist about the redness appearing on Stella's elbow.  He said she should not be showing any signs of burns at this early stage.  It may be just irritation from the stitches that were there.  Said they would take a closer look tomorrow.  Other than that, thankfully, nothing new to report.

Incidentally I asked him to show us precisely where the radiation is being performed.  He said the radiation is being projected in the entire area between the marker lines - evenly in all directions; like a square.
